Novel swapping usergroup? Liz (Shadow729) had a suggestion that may or may not be helpful to those of us who are writing longer pieces, such as novel length stories.
What she suggested was that we could have a usergroup dedicated to swapping novels, specifically in order to get more in depth critiques that will prove more useful to the author.
However, the only way we'll make this usergroup is if people are really going to actually use it to their advantage and post their novel length writing for critiques.
So what I need is for you guys to answer this poll saying whether or not you would use the usergroup yourself. We need both authors and critiquers who are willing to swap for it, otherwise it really won't work. So please vote, and depending on the results we'll either make the usergroup, or we won't.

I'm not sure. I would do it, although I'm a rather judgmental person. The best critique (and the one I would like most on a longer piece) is one that I can debate (philosophize, perhaps?) about. I'm more able to do this with my friends; they're my friends because they're those kind of people too. So, though I would find it of interest, it might not give me exactly what I'm looking for, and others may find the same problem.

I think, at this point, I'm far happier reading short pieces in return for being able to post chapters at a time. It is a good idea, though.

I am saying no because I, personally, don't have time to sit and read longer pieces. Though I don't think it's a bad idea. I just won't utilize it right now. :)

I would be for it, but it would need to be an editing forum as well as critque. Personally I write to publish as much as the sheer pleasure of spinning my tales. So I need hard critiques. More so than my friends provide as they might not want to tell me flat out that something is crap.

Mmm...I'm not sure if the editing thing would be possible, at least not with the amount of members we have in total, and probably less than half of that being a handful of people who are active. Maybe in the future, if we ever have more active members, but I don't see that as being possible right now. The critiquing part is possible if we get enough interest, but that's about it.

Hey, Captain. If you need someone to hard edit something of yours, I'm open. I prefer doing harsher critiques, and I'm somewhat of a grammar nazi when it comes to reading other people's writing. PM me if you want my help! I'm open to reading anything. And I mean anything.

I can vouch for that. She still hasn't read my nano from last year because I wanted her to focus on content but the grammar kept distracting her.
