There weren't, originally. Lucas came out with the three originals, which were the big hits, and then he waited a really long time and decided "oh gee, I want to make another Star Wars movie because there's supposed to be six movies any way!" So he came out with episode one. I wish he hadn't waited so long to come out with the prequels. I doubt he would have, but it would've been cool to see him make movies based on some of the books. But now the actors are dead/too old and at least one of them (Harrison Ford, the one who plays Han Solo) refuses to play his character again. Harrison wanted Han to be killed off. -Pets poor Han-

He still might make them, as he likes to change things around all the time. I mean, every few years, he says "Oh, I'm gonna make the last three," and then he says, "No, I never said that." His la-*test*-('") thing is that he might make two more, but they would have little to nothing to do with the books...or, that's the 4-1-1 that I'VE heard. And, frankly, since the man has to endorse anything that the other authors write in order for it to be published, he should take a little more pride in his creation. Like, Kashyyyk had rolling hills and a fight by a lake in what should have been the underground where they never venture. If he decides to make a third trilogy/duology, or anything else, and it's not based on the books, I'll, I'll...well, I don't know what I'll...spit on his grave or something...

The problem is that basing it on the books would PROBABLY require that he use the same actors to play Luke, Leia, Han, etc...and they're all too old/probably don't want to/etc. I think a lot of fans would be (-gasp- swear word coming) pissed off if anyone other than the original actors played them. My friend, who lives in Canada, told me a few months ago that someone who doesn't have any Lucas connection or something (other than getting permission, I suppose) is making a film that takes place RIGHT before A New Hope. Bria (I think that's her name), Han's old girl friend, is supposed to be in it. If anything...they should probably make a trilogy based off of the Jedi Academy books, but then they'd have to somehow tell the viewers what's happened since Return of the Jedi- i.e. Leia and Han getting married, having kids, etc- without making them in to like...three hour movies, especially the first one. I've been saying for years now that they should do a cartoon series based on the books. All it would require is the voices of the original actors, and that's pretty much it. One of my ex online "boy friends" once told me that they were going to remake the original trilogy, but I don't believe that for a second. He also told me something else, but I don't remember what...maybe that they're supposed to come out with another movie, but I don't think so. This was probably two or three years ago that he told me this.

He IS making a cartoon movie...I just don't know of what, exactly. Have you ever seen either of the Ewok Adventure movies? With Cindel Towani? They're terrible... Oh, have you heard the theory that he said to himself "Let's make the first two movies terrible so that the third movie looks like a masterpiece in comparison?"

AWritersFantasy- 08-24-2007

Yes, I have seen the Ewok Adventure movies and I love them...more so the second one than the first. But they're not really supposed to be connected to Star Wars, I don't think. It just uses the same technology, Ewoks, and planet. Although what kind of sucks is how much they changed Endor...it's supposed to be a forest moon and I wasn't aware that there was a desert (or whatever you wanna call it) on it, but maybe there is.

Shadow729- 08-24-2007

Actually, if you've ever read the Black Fleet Crisis, she's a part of the reason they win in the end, because she eventually makes it off the planet (Cindel, I mean). Part of the reason I didn't like them is because I didn't imagine Endor that way. And, I was younger when I saw them, and Mace and the parents dying was...well, tramazing to say the least.

AWritersFantasy- 08-24-2007

o.O I don't remember her being mentioned in that book...but I also don't know if I read it or not. Yeah, I can understand that. That never bothered me, though, I don't think...I really like the "My Star" song that she sings, though. It's pretty.

Shadow729- 08-24-2007

She was the one who wrote the article that got them involved in it, I think. I don't think she's mentioned much, and she might not even be mentioned by the name "Towani" she might just be refered to as Cindel. I don't really remember, either. I should reread that...when I'm done rereading the Young Jedi Academy series. Oh, and another question about that: which group did you like best, the first one, with the Shadow Academy, the second one with the Diversity Alliance, or the third one with Anja Gallandro? Mine goes 2-1-3, but 1 and 2 are difficult to rank, because I think they are both fabulous. 3 is a little short for me...and I didn't particularly love Anja.

AWritersFantasy- 08-24-2007

I didn't really read the Young Jedi Academy books. I think I have like...two. I think one is where Zekk turns to the dark side, but that's all I remember. I think by the time I got those, I wasn't so young any more and they were below what I wanted to read as far as...plotlines, go, I guess.

Shadow729- 08-24-2007

OH, I thought that you said that, along with the Jedi Academy series, you'd read the Young Jedi Academy one, too. Then, I went back and looked, and you said nothing of the sort. Sorry! Out of the original Jedi that Luke trains, who's your favorite?

AWritersFantasy- 08-24-2007

o____o Wow, you ask complex questions. I don't remember any of the Jedi Luke trains, other than like...Mara and Corran, although I don't think Mara really got a whole lot of training. She didn't need it 'cause of being the Emperor's Hand. And Han and Leia's kids. Mara is definitely one of my favorite characters. You've gotta remember that I haven't read the books since I was a sophomore in high school, so that was like...2001, 2002! :P I probably haven't even touched the books since then, other than to pack them away and put them in the attic.

Shadow729- 08-24-2007

True, true. See...I read them all the time. And, I totally have no life, so I have nothing else to cloud my memory of the lovely Star Wars books. What other books do you read, if you don't read them?

AWritersFantasy- 08-24-2007

I've been trying to read more fantasy books since I stopped reading the Star Wars ones, but I haven't been able to get in to any, really, or finish them. I did, however, finish reading an Irish fantasy trilogy that I absolutely LOVED. The first book is called Daughter of the Forest, and it's an awesome book. It's probably my favorite of the three. AND the author is coming out with a FOURTH book. I can't WAIT until it comes out. I need to finish reading Eragon, and then I have the Phantom of the Opera and Catcher in the Rye (which is really a reread, but it was read out loud to us in my junior year English class, so I want to actually read it) to read. And then I should probably look in to The Golden Compass since the movie is coming out in December. I also have the Dark Elf Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore that I need to finish.
